Syahril's makeover...

Yesterday, while I was in the kitchen and Aimen was in the shower, Syahril decided to go through my make-up bag and give himself a total makeover!!

Afterwards I had to sit him down and explain to him that boys don't put lipstick and eyeliner on...He twisted my words around and justified his action by saying.."Syahril girl, Daddy girl, Mama boy..!!

Happy Mother's Day!!

Happy mother's day to my beloved mom,who has been there for me through good and bad times...Thank you for everything that you've done for me...If it wasn't for Syahril, I would probably never be able to appreciate the joys and frustrations of motherhood... The last two years with him has made me appreciate your love and sacrifices even more...Through you, I've learned that marriage is never ever a bed of roses but one that must stand any and all tests that come its way...May Allah bless you with good health and many many more joyous years ahead..

Happy mother's day also to my beloved grandma. I remember when we were little I would fight with Pak Ajie over her. I've always wanted her to be my mom!! I'm so glad that she's always surrounded by the ones she love and those who loves her back many, many times over!!

My wishes goes out also to my Mak Tam who has 'mothered' me while I had little courage to venture out in the big city. I remember once, she accompanied me to a MAS stewardess interview. We waited for hours under the scorching sun, only to be disqualified the minute they measured my height...I was half an inch toooooo short!! I was depressed for days but she spun me back and help me through the bleakest days of my life. Sadly, she has the big C but she's definitely a fighter and my prayers are with her always.

Happy mother's day also to my mom-in-law. She's been a dedicated teacher all her life and she has always impressed upon me the importance of this profession. Among others she'd remind me how teachers during her era won't get paid if the majority of the class failed their exams!

Not least, Happy mother's day to Mak Ngah and Mak Teh and Mak Su my beloved aunts who have loved me unconditionally despite my idiosyncrasies and shortcomings...I love all of you very, very much!!

To Nisa, Dena and Laili and to all above who have been stalwart mothers I pray that Allah will continue to give you the strength to weather all the trials and tribulations that come with motherhood...Happy Mother's Day, everyone!!
